I like the challenges of parents with learning disabeled children. I myself have several learning disabilities and school was / is a HUGE challenge for me. I remember when I was young, my parents knew something was not right, but the school and teachers had social biases towards me that prevented them from seeing the learning issues I was having. I remember it was so difficlut for my parents dealing with the school that they finally had to seek outside resources to try to get to the bottom of the issues. It was very time consuming for them and quite expensive. They devoted a lot of time to that. I am interested to see if your research will target parental involvement. Today, with most households having two parents working, if there are two parents, there does not seem to be the same level of involvement in childes lives and education as there was back then. Had my parents not pushed like bulldozers, I would have never been diagnosed nor gotten the help I need. Good luck and I look forward to your results.
